“With each new project, it’s always exciting learning how to create a scheme for that particular space that is comfortable, thoughtful and practical.”
About
Dana Waldron’s passion for interior design stems from her fascination with the unique details of each project. Growing up in her mother’s artist studio, she was inspired by the materials and processes behind each painting, influencing her work at Murphy Waldron Interiors.
After earning a degree in Interior Design and Business from Appalachian State University, Dana moved to New York City, where she worked with Holland & Sherry. Her experience on the vendor side of the industry gave her expertise in mill production, fabric design, and sales coordination. She then transitioned to the design side, working with renowned firms like Studio Sofield and Meyer Davis on various residential, retail, hospitality, and commercial projects.
At Murphy Waldron Interiors, Dana focuses on creating a balanced blend of functionality and beauty, drawing inspiration from great artists and designers like Sonia Delaunay, Andree Putman, Axel Vervoordt, and Nakashima. A North Carolina native, she now resides in Durham with her husband and two daughters, Nell and Annie.
